I´ve just installed Windows XP Home on my computer and Half-life and SvenCoop are crashing to desktop when I try to create a server or join a game. Any ideas please?

update your graphics card drivers, windows will install some crappy drivers which don't work well with opengl and in fact won't work well in anything, just update all ur drivers to be sure as they r all made by Microsoft

True there cscralet but SP1 solves some problems with running programs on XP.
Worth mentioning again, never download Microsoft audio or graphics drivers they SUCK! :P
Check out your gfx developer’s homepage instead.

I´ve found out, that my old installation of Half-life is working. I have forceware 5303xp drivers (which are best for battlefield and desert combat I think) and Windows home SP1. Half-life is working, but with opengl when starting server I have to esc and resume the game, because it leaves a picture of the menu on the screen. But when I do that, the game crashes to desktop. With D3D its working good, but another problem, sometimes I can see through everything. Any ideas?

erm try an older set of drivers for your card and see if the problems persist
