ok i will go straigh to the point..
my computer runs svencoop at 1 to 30 fps max all the time,
and i bought it 1½-2 years ago.
i just wanna know if the 30 fps thing is normal. i sometimes hear ppl say that, they cant play HL under 99 fps :p.
LPBs and HFPSBs :)

specs:

Operating system: Windows XP 5.1.2600
CPU: 890 MHz AuthenticAMD Duron
Total Memory (RAM): 512 MB (note: i once used 128, now i've replaced it with 512)
DirectX Version: DirectX 8.1
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce2 Ti
Video Driver: 6.14.10.5216
------------------------
Drive C:
Type: Fixed
Fire System: NTFS
Total Space: 37.26 GB
Free Space: 23.68 BG
-------------------------
Sound Card: SiS 7012 Audio Driver
Sound Driver 4.90.00.3001

(note: i run svencoop with HL:BS HD pack)

hmmm tell me if i've missed anything important ;)

you have almost the same system specs like me, except i use w2k and have an erazor III (NVIDIA Riva TNT2).
i have the same "problem" hl doesnt get over 30fps.
so i think just our videocards are old :)

well...
the human eye cannot differ between 90 and 30 FPS so its just a style thingy and something for attention w***s.
30 are good... more is better, sure, but when you have unter 25 in most of the maps you should buy a new card

Depends on the settings, I got an

AMD Athlon™ XP 1800+, 1690MHz, 256KB
NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440,
Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 1 (5.1 - 2600),
256 Mb RAM, and I get 100 fps.

First change to Open GL, that will save you some fps, and make graphics look better. Then turn of Vsynch, That saved me 40 fps. :D

Oh, and check so fps_max in config.cfg is not less than 100 or so :)

Yeah, OpenGL owns :D

Kinda hard to explain about Vsynch, But if you find it, Change to always off. Like the pic

(Sorry for the crappy pic, had to make it smaller than it already was :) )

its odd... i get 100 fps when i see the main menu.. lol.
by the way, why wont you "overdo it"? if you can run Svencoop with more than 60 fps.. go for it man!

like i said, over 24 the human eye doesnt see a difference and it barley get over 40.

But I admit that all games has become way less laggier than before :D

always thought it was 60fps and over people won't notice, a quick tip for older cards using older drivers may actually improve fps and possibly stability as newer drivers can be loaded with useless crap
