View Full Version : Mouse lag, screen lag?

Sorry if this was already mentioned somewhere on the boards which I cannot find..

I am playing Sven 3 in Steam and I have been playing by using a listenserver. I experience some sort of lag or slow-down when I move my mouse and there's a short delay until it gets to the point where I move it to. This usually occurs only when I am playing a map like afrikakorps3 or a part of a map where you are fighting off several monsters and that usually have only 3 to 4 people in the server (with pings of 100 or lower).

The screen resolution I first experienced this is with 1024x768 and switched it over to 800x600, still nothing. I am also using an ATI Radeon 128MB 9200SE video card with balanced settings. I'm also using a PS/2 mouse.

Any suggestions to how I can fix this problem?

I used to get this with d3d alot. Switching to OpenGl fixed it though

OpenGL. D3D lags like a bitch sometimes, and Software looks just plain ugly.

Yup. I'll add my input too.

Same thing. Mouse/screen lag in d3d.
And switching to OpenGL fixed it nicely.

I don't know how yours happened, but mine happened
after I updated my video driver and DX.
I had nothing but grief even just surfing.

I reverted to older vid drivers and the surfing issues
went away. Halflife still sucked and I switched to
OpenGL and all has been fine since.

UPDATE: Well, it works fine for moving around but it slows me down on maps like rs_entmap (I can't even see the other side and my lag shoots up) but when I switch to d3d or software I can see the other side fine and have no lag but my mouse lag is there again...what do I do???

Thanks

"10" "Correct D3D Error"
{
"1" "ON" "gl_d3dflip 1"
"2" "OFF" "gl_d3dflip 0"

Taken from the commandmenu.txt in svencoop.

I'm not sure if it actually fixes the problem, as switching this on and off has no effect on my end (I don't have any d3d problems other than the text becoming almost unreadable though)
