Story:
The dark and evil pharao Kel’ Rana has invaded Egypt with his troops. He build 4 runes there to save his dark power and energy.
The first mission for you and your team is to search and destroy all 4 runes. Once this is done, Kel’ Rana is woundable. You have to find and kill him in order to free Egypt.

Your zip is made bad since it extracts a folder called sc_egypt_final first. Make a folder on your desktop called svencoop and then move all the necessary map files to it, in their correct folders of course. Then when you create the zip choose the svencoop folder on your desktop and choose to use relative paths.

Is the pistol supposed to make only 2 damage? All the weapons seemed like nerfguns against those monsters with high hp. And that one bit had the insane amount of snarks at the same time, might crash someones game with that. After that the massively spawning assassins were instakill after you teleported back there.

Cool architecture and stuff though, reminded me lots of Serious Sam.

Looks really good simbl. Thank god thats another map that has nothing to do with black mesa or RE because im really tired of these themes.

P.S thats why I am working on a map that has nothing to do with both of them either :p

EDIT: Played the map now. And because I am a bad map reviewer I just say what I thought of the map :D

Gameplay was good IMO. Challenging, and the enemy classes change throughout the level so its not boring.The only thing (not bad but not good) was the boss fight. Could have been a bit more challenging or interesting. But maybe you hit the entity limit or something so well..dont know :)

Architecture was very well I think.Had nothing against it. And I found 2 secrets hehe.
And shortcut teleporters made it the player easier to come to the battlefield again.
But one thing was from serious sam 2 if I remember correct :D

I said I'm not a good reviewer so I just say its a new uniqe map thats really worth a try, and thats not black mesa or Resident evil related.

I give this map a 9/10 Points. :)

The map link aswell as all the picture links brings me to a german error page. :(

Edit: The other posted links worked. From the pictures I can tell that the map looks hilarious. I have never seen a map like this! It seems as you have put alot of effort into this, and the results are very well. Good job! I will have to try this whenever I fix my SvenCo-op. :D

Very nice map :) Good theme, well worked out architecture, but on some area's a bit out of balance. I would say you reduce those amount of grenades and snarks the players can pick up because it becomes a bit of a nade or snark spamming fest rather than a fierce battle with the grunts or the creatures.

You could try to get some difficulty balance back. The double garg area is a bit of a corridor of death because there is no way to run than right through 2 gargs. After that the map loses some of it's gameplay fun, because the rooms are filled with enemies all of a sudden, and I just jumped right through all of them and came to the endboss which was a push-over with a fully loaded gluongun and RPG, even on my own. Imagine 10 players with that equipment...they will toaste your all mighty bossmonster in a matter of seconds. It's best you review those last few rooms to make it a more fair and interresting battle than it's now.

My overall woul be : very nicely themed and looks good, gameplay starts off fun with action/mixed with puzzles but becomes a bit of an unbalanced slaughterfest at the end. Feels like a rushed ending.

Rating : 7.2/10

Great Map, me and my friend enjoyed it very much!

Just the endfight could have been harder - the Boss Monster should have like 15000 health, and the monsters should respawn till hes dead.

I still give it a 10 of 10.

Yes, congrats on that. Still I think it would do good to the map to review the battles in the last few portions. Would make the map even better imho, but ofcourse that decision up to you ;)

Well, I finished up the egypt map, and for the next two or three years, i can't see any more egyptian textures... :D
Btw, I am working on the next map right now. =)

I loved the map and I just can't get enough about the mythical egypt theme involving monsters :)

Only minus was that the map was very short. way too short if u ask me. Make it 4 times bigger and u get 10/10 from me :p
and the final boss was very easy, took me 1 minute to kill him with 1 friend.

The textures and their usage was brilliant, liked them alot aswell the traps.

make more of these maps with a little darker scene, more maybe from-outdoors-to-deepdown-a-huge-pyramid action and longer, possibly harder.

Was wondering, is there a way to do a wad include in your map, because 22 megs is a lil extreme for a server to run a download on a wad file..sc_egypt looks good, to upload to clients the wad is gigantic causing major overflow issues.. Thanks.. :)


Just so you know everything else uploads to clients fine, until we get to the wad file then crash..

Well, if I would do a -wadinclude, the file won't get much smaller, because nearly all textures in the wad are used in the map. (well... not nearly all, but a lot).^^

-wadinclude won't make the file small enough to matter. Using a seperate wad file allows the mapper to make smaller BSP "upgrades/fixes" for people to download. The wad still has to be downloaded the first time. A RES file may help with server downloads. Funny how some people always want the maps longer while others complain about downloading them when they are, hehe. Not referring to you Stoked, just in general.

I think this maps needs to be tweaked in order for it to be BoMS..

It is a very good looking map, and the architecture/geometry it nice overall, but ineeds some sort of focal point or key area that stands out above the rest of the level. Some areas just need more detail. The lighting looks good, but in some places there is no actual source for the light, it just happens out of the ceiling. Also, in some spots the monsters can be quite overwhelming, it'd be better with some more gameplay balance (especially the massn's near the end).

Otherwise this is a pretty nice map, I'd give it a 70-80% if I could be arsed to write a review for it. ;)

The Mummy returns :D Well this map reminds me that egypt themed map-pack , cant remember its name... im pretty sure it was Project Guilty 1.1 , right ? :D

Make some places full of traps , plz :D Like in Indiana Jones you know...

Easy: Just walk over the colored stone things at the sides of the pool.
