This is sort of a computer question, however I'll get a quicker reply here.

What are good codecs, and codec settings for encoding AVI files?
I have seen entire 120 minute movies shrunk into 120 meg files without much chop, and fair quality. What are the best codecs for long high motion video, and what are the settings with the codec for best performance.

MPEGs and DIVX's are some of the best...

In my opinion, DIVX's are more compact however MPEGs are Higher Quality... sorry I can't tell you more than that .

The NEW DivX codec's, are BASED upon the MPEG4 technology to display movies. The New DIVX 4.12 is highest PC quality ever seen to mankind. And the most compact. Just compress it in DivX 4.12 codec.... :)
