whats the definitive guide to dividing bandwidth out to players ?_?
i figured it was 7 k each player but my server seems to be ok running 6 players on 30k upstream .

Slidje,
I dont think there is anything definitive. You can roughly work it out, but thats all it is. My advise, keep uping it untill your players experience lag, then decrease it by 1 or 2.

Do you use ping booster as well? Ive heard good reports on it, but dont use it myself.

i find i get a good ping on Mr Magics, but on BlueYonder its naff (unless those flying things appear, i get 1300 pings)

who gives a shit .

for most maps i think 5 k each is enough .
some maps like horde do get very laggy and each player needs about 10 each .
my servers great at 6 players and will run ok at 10 players .
whats mr magics server connection ?

At the moment ive got a 2mb T1, from COLT internet.

I run a 14 and a 6 player server, and at the moment a 6 player test server.

But I work in a collage so we have students downloading all day, and staff listening to the bloody radio streams too.

ive only ever lagged on mr magics server once , once battlefield . theres about 60 enemies on the map at once , about 10 alien controllers too . lag fest .
it i the fastest , stablest , best overall svencoop server there is .
cosy is for professional players . no bullshit , just good teamwork .

i like to think my server is the funnest but i only play with my friends or brother .

the blue yonder servers need admins . admins that actually play the game .

i havnt played on servers outside the uk since i got dsl , i cant really comment on those .

Yeah BlueYonder needs some admins to keep everything in order there.
