i made this map after the release of attack1a...i started with a small arena and some monsters to find out what happens when a babygarg and 5 Blackops meet up in 1 room....:)
I added more and more rooms and played it with my friends and we had fun...

I played this map earlier, and I have to say its a very good map.

Once again, like all of emtegs maps it has great architecture and every part of the map looks nice. The design is very good also, meaning playing through the map is very smooth and an enjoyable experence. The texturing is generally good thorughout, with a few minor bits of dodgy textruing in certain places, nothing bad though.

The atmosphere is good for all of the map, and really gives you a black mesa sort of feeling, which is a good thing. One of the main athings that makes a map good or bad is gameplay. This map doesnt fail to dissapoint. All of the battles are good quality and the need to use coop play is great. The only real bad point is you get a few to many ARgrenades, but apart from that this map is great and more than worthy of been in Best Of.

I must say, nice architecture. Reminds me abit from Hostile Planet. Sweet area`s to play in and all that. Best is to reduce the monsters abit and try different aproach on boosting difficulty.

Other point is that the maps are too dark, using the flashlight that often is frustrating.

eMTeG you keep getting better and better with every map, I just hope to be half as good with my mapping :)

I have to agree with you ppl.
This map has a very nice feeling to it, allthough the pictures seem a bit cuby, walking around the whole warehouse felt really nice.
Allthough you only made use of Half-life textures, it still looked pretty good.
I only wrote down 6 comments O_o.

1)I think you need to put more interesting brushes at places, like the ceiling or around doors (frames).
Take the second warehouse for example, putting up some curvy supporters will make it look sexyer.
Maybe you should fly trough your whole map again and find every excuse for placing more brushes, this way it will maybe look more detailed
2)I think you need some more cover troughout the map.
3)Personally I have a problem with the {grate texture you used in your map, I dislike the way it looks.
Maybe you can download a costum one and put more brushes around it so it will look/feel better?
4)The barney at picture2 (http://520083779710.bei.t-online.de/pics/prev1_005.jpg) got a A_slave spawned behind him, and that slave kept whacking him and he didnt die, looked funny though I think you should fix it.
*5)Most important of them all, after that room with the barney, I went into another warehouse room, thats where the mood/feeling got ripapart for me.
IMHO you put way to many human soldiers there, without using proper cover.
When you jump into that room, its just blasting your way in hoping you can do as much damage as you want.
Maybe create a crate maze of somesort that helps you attack from diffrent posistions and hights creating a much more actionish feeling.

Overall, a very nice map.

Ohyeah, forgot to add it.
At poimt 5 my HL crashed, probably duo the fact of to much going on (I wos hitting one of the grunts with a crowbar).

Thank you:)

1)Yes, thats right
3)?I know, this isn't a great tex, but hm...it looks like a door. That's what i want to do.
4)NPC have godmode on, i should turn this off in the .cfg file.
5)I'll change the position of some containers and crates.
???hl crashed???

I'm talking about this http://www.planethalflife.com/the-lab/temp/corona/grate.jpg texture.
Replace it with a costum one.

Hl crashed because there was to many things going on I think.

 noticed that map has moved to best of map showcase:cool:
 map build time: 4 days
 first room( with bgarg and black ops) was a AI test arena: what happens if a bgarg and some black ops are in the same rooom?
:D did map just for fun

->best of showcase

12-11-2002, 10:46 AM
Jeez, if you make that in four days what will happen if you spend a few months on it?
I ussualy spend months on a map and something of "good" quality comes rolling out.
Maybe for you next time you should strife harder to make more costum textures and more interesting brush work.

map will be poor and boring. if i spend too much time on a map it looses the interest for me. mapping is my free time activity! and if it takes weeks or months...i get bored. :wtf:

13-11-2002, 05:12 PM
I haven't played the map yet, but because you have Gonomes in your level it automatically kicks ass.

13-11-2002, 05:29 PM
:wtf:  2 gonomes:eek: :)

13-11-2002, 06:10 PM
I just played it. There were more than 2 gonomes.

Good job on the map btw :)

Interesting map, nicely designed. Is there any progress on continuation of the map?

24-05-2003, 02:20 AM
No, actually not. But because i have still the mapfile in my worldcraft folder, everything is possible:)

I still don't know, why this map seems to be so good:)

24-05-2003, 09:58 AM
Damn, I forgot how good this map was. A bit of lag at begining but ran pretty good after that. Enemy placement is one of best parts of this map. I liked how they seemed to be realistically coming in to attack, not just respawning in mid air. Not to forget the good architecture, didn't look too bad for a 4 day map. As Corona pointed out I, too, would like to see what you could produce if you spent a little more time on a map. I lost this one when I reformatted awhile back.

As Corona pointed out I, too, would like to see what you could produce if you spent a little more time on a map. I worked about 2 months on Jbase 1. You can find this map in the best of showcase forum

24-05-2003, 12:21 PM
Jbase is a good one too, other than that teleport glitch which can be avoided by kneeling while going through. :)

24-05-2003, 09:40 PM
Yeah, have it, played it, definitly a very good one too. I didn't make the connection between the two and you but yeah, very nice. Does show extra effort pays off.

28-05-2003, 05:38 PM
I didn't make the connection between the two and you
 what du you mean:confused:

I just replayed this map and decided to spend some more time on it. Ill add some more details and fix a few bugs. And maybe Im going to make a second part.;)

Ok, Map but people have diff taste

12-08-2004, 04:23 AM
How do you finish this map? After I got further, the screen black outs for a few seconds, then back to normal. Nothing happens afterwards. Is there something missing?

I last played this map under Steam Half-Life: Sven Co-op 3.0.

Can someone upload pic of this map?

18-09-2007, 01:20 PM
I have some from 2004.

From what I remember from the map it was quite good but not terribly unique.
