    Lightbulb sc_outpost3

    Hi!

    Ive been working on a new map and this is the result sc_outpost3 I couldnt come up with a better name ;D

    The map is pretty basic u have a few objectives to complete:
    *Destroy anti air gun

    The idea of this map was to make o free map where u can make the objectives in any order.
    Well I want u do download it and test it and if u got any suggestions post them.

    Gonna try it now. But I have a suggestion.

    Why don't you just include the nod file from the final compile, that way people won't have to "wait."

    Yeah thats an good idea
    But really it dosent take that long,,,
    Ill think of that next time. But it takes less then 2 minutes and it will work just fine.. thnx for the tip

    I suggest sealing off this area since this looks very weird It's the ruined wall at the Anti-Aircraft gun.

    Other stuff:

    It's a bit too easy with the AR grenades, try spawning them with a squadmaker and set the respawn time very high.

    The shocktroopers respawns too fast, it gets very annoying.

    The textures are very repetive. Try using some different ones now and then. www.planethalflife.com/wadfather has some good textures too.

    You should give the map a story, and remember to include the motd next time

    Ill try to make the rocks a little bit more Detailed but its hard to keep the r_speed low then,,
    As for the Wallls I try to come up with something to "lure" the human eye. But i dont think its such a big problem.. The important thing is that the map is fun.
    And thats and compile error yes I will remake that rock It looks like a bad leak but zooners Hl tools didnt report anything

    As for the textures I think they fit the map and I will not use any others in this map at least. Its supposed to look like half-life and it sure does..

    As for the motd I did add one in the zip I just named it wrong I forgot the "_motd" at the end
    This will be fixed in next version.
    Uh and the shocktroopers are spawned in with a trigger_random if i remember right so if they respawned to much that was proberly just bad luck
    But I will check it out just in case I named it wrong or something...
    But dont u think it will get to hard without the Grenades?

    Fun!

    Gameplay was very good. Yes, that looked like a bad leak but fixable. More important to me is the gameplay. I liked the placement and number of enemys. As for the grenades I like having the extra backup, remember just cause they are there doesn't mean you have to use them. I always adjust .cfg files to my liking anyway. Don't like building up everything just to start over 15 seconds later. Very good job, all things concidered. Will watch for next version.
    I agree also with watching your textures and r_speeds I did get little bit of lag in a few spots, but not very much.

    Hmm I saw a wierd problem in this map today the Tank turret didnt shot and then all suddenly it shot about 10 rounds at the same time like a shotgun is anyone else gettin this problem?
    I cant seem to figure out the solution,,
    Its really wierd

    or something
    anyway , i couldnt find taht turret (i didnt actually knew that it exists cus i forgot the objectives)
    edit:turret didnt fired any aliens , like they was hes allies

    I will fix that now.
    And the antiair gun i suppose u mean .. Its not so hard to find its on a roof. The only way ti acsess the roof is threw air ducts. U have to jump in to the air duct

    Requires some Jumping skillz

    Edit: TO find out the objectives with out reading the MOTD u can "press" or "use" the Comunciation radio in the begining of the map..

    Just redownload the map again and replace all files.
    I also included a overview fil you can look at.
    I dont thin svencoop can use it but u still can look at it if u dont know where to go. (I put out the objectives in it).

    The map ends if u walk in to the sewer with the exit sign on ;D
    If u dont want to exit the level yet u can go to the spawn by enter the teleport...
    Cause it will always be Aliens in the map ..
    They are spawned in with xenmaker triggered by a random enity..

    I`ve been playing this piece and I must say Really REALLY well done !

    This gameplay is superb ! I really love how you worked this out. Other then just follow the path, you can get everywhere and from every direction you want. And there`s the fights between you and the marines and the choas with the invading aliens. It`s great !

    You could add some more architecture and detail to this map tho. It`s got quite some enviroment feeling but there are sure some spaces that need some extra touch.

    I have an idea for this map :

    Why don`t you turn it more to the arena/horde side of this map ? I remember me and a few friends playing TFC against
    a load of bots on 2fort and we took a position and defended it against the hordes of monsters that kept comming. It`s really thrilling when the monsters overrun you and you have to pull back to built a new position to defend and try to advance towards the enemy positions.

    You could do the same thing in here. What if the monsters keep returning ? Make the monsters placement really difficult so that you have to fight hard to take a building. Then players can use that building as their new "home-base" and try to take more of the map from there. While they do that, they have some objectives that they have to archieve, just like the ones in your map (who are good too!).

    Like the map is now, you can easily win this on your own. But make it more difficult, put more battle in it, put more options in it, and this map sure will be a winner !

    Current rating would be => 7/10 Great work ! Keep it on !

    Thanks Hezus for ure suggestions and opinions.

    I dont think I will keep respawning monsters ... Maybe a make som more of them. But the monsters dosent really act as bots which make them kind of boring after respawning them a while. They want go out looking for u and it will get kind of silly if they respawned in the house.. But I still like ure ideas I will proberly try them a little and see how it works.

    Ill try to make it a little bit more difficult. But right now i ran out of ideas

    Maybe you could try different kind of monsters. First the whole thing is held by soldiers, then Xen aliens come. Then blackops take over. Then Race X comes ect.

    Maybe not spawn "endless", but at least some more difficult battle. Maybe make an APC wich spawns grunts into the area and you can block the way for it or blow it up so you can stop the flow of grunts coming at you.
