    Maybe you set it up wrong, go through the steps on setting it up again.

    Can you convert NPC models into player models (e.g hgrunt or massin)?

    Aslong as they have the same bone names it should be fine.

    I'm trying to give SC animations to a npc from another Half Life based game so I can make it into a player model and I do everything right but when I hit compile with new SC animations it says at the end of the process:

    illegall parent bone replacement in sequence ''ref_shoot_squeak''
    ''Bip01 L Foot'' has ''Bip01 L Leg1'', reference has ''Bip01 L Calf''

    EDIT: Here is the whole QC-file contained inside the model. Do I need to replace something more instead just the animation sequences?

    I really want this, but link is definitely dead. I'm not even sure I'll be able to convert the player model I have in mind anyway.

    yes u can convert them i asked my friend war nuker to convert the hwgrunt guy into a player model please look in model and skins project for download link

    Seeing as how the original post's link had a "HOW-TO.txt," is there a step-by-step somewhere for this?

    Seems 60 Megabyte File is not around much anymore...
    Hopefully someone will provide some updated info for people like me who know NOTHING about modeling, but want to learn a little bit (so correct animations can be added to models, for example).

    This is an almost 16 year old thread so the link is long dead also 3.0 is very outdated.
