    U did it with the barngrunt and now the shld and ur taking over my thread!!!
    (nah only joking :P)

    Well, i looked where u said, but i dont hve 1.6 cs or steam (cos steams rubbish i think)

    Ive also done the HD version, no ally camo this time but if anyone would like me to do the same with the new green camo ill be pleased to do so... I did this last night, and no errors have really been fixed a part from the hitboxes causeing headshots in damage, only animations now

    Ok here are some suggestions
    1) If your going to add a shield to it, at least use the shield from CS
    2) add hitboxes to the shield and make it bulletproof
    3)give it some new animations so it works properly

    Heres how you do add a shield to a model, look at the pic(made by fury)

    in a word "chronic" (that means good)

    the entire idea of a shield is cool, but that shield sucks. maybe you could have a (and i really do feel bad for saying) CS shield, complete with a window, that you can pick up after killing the grunt

    now that, would be the chron don phemonaneonneono (spelling?)

    Hi all,
    Im glad ur giving me tips bmoore, but firstly i dontr have that shld, the one i used was in my cs folder

    Secondly, it does ahve a hit box but unless i can find a coder, it will only stop the ammo types i told u about... (.cpp file i think)
    As for the animations, im shite at that department

    So before i do it for a hit model, can i get that nice looking shld off u bmoore?

    oh, and by the way, just a suggestion

    only make the grunt be able to use a pistol, as i doubt any average marine could carry a shield and an assault rifleinto battle. otherwise i see a great addition to SC

    Dang. I'll have to recompile those medics and engineers with this one.

    EDIT: Hey bmoore, can you upload the P_shield because it seems to come with preset hitboxes that can be put on the grunt.

    you dont need to code anything for the riot shield, you silly newb

    here's what you do.... delete all the hit boxes in the .qc file, and recompile the model. it should automatically generate hit boxes. now open up the .qc again, and whichever limb you bound it to, change the number to 10 instead of zero, like this...

    since i bound the shield to the left hand, i changed the hitbox to 10, and that makes it bullet proof. simple as that.

    And fury, the hitbox does make a diference but, it only acts like the helmet , so it only blocks what the helmet does...
    Which is what my (rather crp looking i know) shld does already.... Still ill give it a go...

    well think about it, xbow would puncture a shield anyway, so would a bigass 357 shot, and explosion, and a railgun so... i think you're good

    As far as picking up the shield and using it etc...
    Would it be possible to give the p_ (player) shield a bullet proof hit box to stop damage, or are the hitboxe properties (or the hitboxes themselves) ignored by the engine?
    If it is possible, you could replace the medkit with the shield if you didnt want the player to hold the weapons at the same time, or add it to the 9mm/357.

    Just some curiosity...


    Btw- Sgt. Wilco, I like this idea, sparks some interest. Cant wait to use this grunt when you get it done.

    the player is an entirely different story... i never tested it, not even in singleplayer, but im pretty sure it wouldnt work without code. a shield would have to be coded into svencoop for the player (think pvw)

    I'm not nicking though. I'm trying to do this myself also. I'm not going to release it here. I'm gonna put them in some maps. It's not like I'm in some race to beat you...

    EDIT: Ah, fury, I see. Doing this is a lot easier then I though. I didn't know the model generates hboxes. Nooby me:o

    Firstly, thxs fury for the info about hit boxes, its helped me alot, not really in this model but many othrs...

    Secondly, H I T Grunt with shield has been released..
    It has the shld that wildcat01 (i think) gave me, and the HIT model from the HIT team, as suggested ive removed the police text...
    Here it is....

    looking better, I just dont like the bullet holes, they look kinda stupid, but I can take them out myself if I want to
    but if you can now, put the sheild on his left arm
    it'd actually fit with the animations more like the cover animations(he puts his left hand out in front of him) and stuff like that
