    SC_OPD - Osprey Down 1.0 released

    This is the Release of Osprey Down, it a medium size map for 2 - 8 players. The map is set in a desert city occupied by enemy grunts. Your goal is to locate and defend the crashsite use any means necessary. keep your eyes open to find more weapons and ammo. I would like to get some more mirrors so if u like to host my map, please do so. If you know any places to host it, please tell me. Thats about it, for all questions and coments, please post them or contact me mr_me@deds.nl

    Well, i hope you'll have fun playing this map and i wish you luck finding the Easter egg

    i like it really , the theme is great and fights heavy ! i like the map all the way.

    Only Bugs:
    To Much Monster / delete some or change the models , the e_poly speeds are way to high.
    The Flametrooper makes babygarg sounds ^^.

    Move to BOMS please , the map is more than great !

    Nice map, is there a way to change the babygargs blood?

    Screens look very promising. Trying it.

    EDIT :
    Very nice map, some good thilling gameplay and a good difficulty level for quite a few players. Good mix between sandstone and afrikakorps. With some good additions like the flamethrower grunt and the other custom models.

    Architecture looks far above average with a real well made sand theme and many different locations inside and outside. Together with the objective/story elements this map is a winner. BOMS-ed

    Rating : 8/10

    Note : The flamethrower could use some changes and new blood animations. In SC Mapping there is a sound replacement tutorial to change the babygarg sounds to grunt sounds.

    A drawback is the flamer grunts were not quite perfect... You could use:

    -sound replacement

    -custom in-game name

    -custom blood color: red

    thanks for all your commends, most likely il take them with me to the HL2 version of this map for svencoop source. as we all know the HL2 engine can handle much more, so other additions are welcome.

    SC2 is going to take a pretty long time, so I suggest you continue on the HL1 engine for now.

    Well I got around to playing this, the design is flawless. The surroundings made me think of black hawk down when I was playing.

    However... bad fame rate drops when fighting, made it a pain to play through on my part. Now of course I liked how you placed them in the cover of windows and such. Perhaps start out with the ground forces first. When the players either kill the grunts on the ground, or go past a certain point. New grunts spawn and shatter windows or they kick out a doorway and stream in.

    Idea:
    Perhaps have the players run down an empty street. And you hear a voice and soon come onto a down ally soldier, for whom is calling for help. When the players get close enough they find out it's a tape recording and apparently enemies already killed him, not before recording his voice. Soon enough, from all angles, windows shatter and bullets sizzle through the air. After all, giving the player emotional purpose, helps immense them into the atmosphere even more.

    Given, there were some good moments in the map's atmosphere, like near the end how I saw the wounded soldiers, helped give me a meaning to protect that area.

    Also I liked the flame thrower grunts, I didn't care if they sounded like baby gargs. Because mostly I think pryo's can be odd in their own special way.

    One more thing... Puss 'N Boots is damn cute when he does that face.

    Just tried to play the map by myself on lan server and got this error message in console as it crashed:
    Error: server failed to transmit file 'sound/crashsite/osprey.wav'
    Error: server failed to transmit file 'sound/crashsite/apc_idle.wav'
    Error: server failed to transmit file 'sound/crashsite/fight1.wav'
    Error: server failed to transmit file 'sound/crashsite/fight2.wav'

    Nevermind the wav error, it extracted to another folder.
    But still got this:

    Still cant play it LAN game wise, get the overflow message.
    And it was tried on Frenchys Svens, and Frenchy played it for a while and it crashed with no error message. (we use amxx mod with mim plugins added).

    edit : i player the map and i have to say : one of the best SC maps And i love especially the "military only" maps These flamethower grunts are awesome Exept one problem - theres TOO MANY grunts Id say you should remove atleast half of the monsters

    edit : Mr. Me I tryied it on a won and it dint crash not a single time Even if large maps like that full of so many monsters crash.Even smaller ones

    SC_OPD from map_pack of svencentral

    when dedicated play map 1 , it shows all the time :
    SV_StartSound: not precached (0)
    i wonder i it comes from file of pack that is outdated , it contains some maps that are not the latest ; or if is normal ?
