    [Hgrunt]Combine

    Just a quick conversion... This is the combine player model from Snow Wars 2, converted into a Hgrunt. Sorry SD lovers, I couldnt get the combine to compile with SD weapons so he's got an ld mp5

    heh, thx...

    It works, but I tested it ingame and theres a few bugs. He works fine in hl1 (i just replaced my hgrunt with him) but his textures are slightly too red. Also, when I tested him in SC, theres a few odd things. It might have just been my map, (sc_7hour, which is earth v combine) and sometimes he randomly gets "long" and extends out in hundreds of frightening directions, becoming an evil stickman. It's quite terrifying. Might just be my map though... I have one map which always crashes when you throw a grenade :S

    I found the problem, by the way: I needed to fiddle with the hitboxes. Now he doesnt go hideously out of proportion any more.. i tried to fix the textures too but he just gets redder ,but anyway I'm going to try and upload the fixed version tomorrow. I cant at the moment.

    Also maybe on its way: COMBINE BARNEY!!

    i dont tihnk its your map. its when you try to convert a palyer model into a monster - here an hgrunt. i was making a starwars map and i turned the boba fett player model into an hgrunt and he did what he did in your description of what happened.

    Alright, the fixed one is attatched to the top post.

    The new version i just made has a HL2-style mp7 smg. If you prefer hl2 continuity to hl1 or if you just have an mp7 for your 9mmar anyway, this is the one for you...

    EDIT: The mp7 is Nightwolf63's
    Sorry Nightwolf63, I couldn't find the credits in my models folder and all I could remember about the model was it was originally from TS :S

    This is a bump, but the mp7, i converted from TS and there is no credit , and i pretty sure u got it from these forums

    yeah but... its just the p/w model hes using, it doesnt use the v_ model....................................................... .............sooooo, it doesnt matter because its not the model you actually converted you know the view model,which was the focus of your effort on the conversion, i believe

    Honostly, the models from SW2 mod are horrible. I'll say, great job for the conversion , but for the SW2 team, bad job for the creation, and 'ok' for the skinning. If HL1 models begin to relate to HL2 models, please make the conversion directly from HL2. Just my opinion and thinking. =)

    to wildcat, i had also converted and hacked the p and w models, and hl2 models would be cool but you can't do that. it no problem stonehead common error

    By the way I found what the "exploding combine" problem was: he's split up into several files, and replacement files break if they're split up. Sven Viking described exactly what happened:

    BTW Nightwolf where did you get that lovely arms texture on the mp7? I just reskinned all my half-life arms onto it for a hl2 feel, then reskinned my hev suit, helmet, and gordon players with it. I'm addicted ^_^

    the arms are liquidator's he skinned them, i just used them

    Yeah and yours was directly ripped from Half-Life2 before the game was 25% close to its release. Hey, but yours is the best I've seen, I'd like to use it as a Player Model if possible - best rip ever.

    This model has problems

    If you jump on top of the combine it crashes game
    And if the combine yell medic it crashes.
    Or other things it crashes.

    But overall its good model, just needs fixing. 3/5

    Yeh, I noticed these errors too after releasing it. I think the problem comes from it being split up into lots of files so if you decompile it and remove $externaltextures and everything about $sequencegroup in the qc it should work
