New hardware to arrive from Norway.
    CPU: AMD 64 X2 3800
    MOBO: Some cheap Nforce4
    GFX: Sapphire X1600 PRO (PCI/E)
    Soundcard: Integrated (6.1 IIRC)
CASE: Cooltek storm (Has a 25 cm fan on the side.)
    RAM: 1024 DDR (2X 256 1X 512)
Some Generic 300 gb SATA harddrive.
    PSU: 400W XILENCE

Not the best, but its good for me.

Well, looks like they didn't have what I wanted in stock, so I have no idea what my new computer specs are going to be.

    Re: post your computer pics/specs

    made another compy strictly for mapping;
    named "Hammerhead"

    specs:
    3.0ghz northwood p4 w/ HT
ASUS ai something, just got it.
    420w thermaltake
    maxtor 300gb 7,200 ata/133 w/ 16mb cache PATA
    albatron geforce 6600 gt 128mb
    2gb of Corsair XMS ddr400 4x(512)
some crappy dvd rom; no cd-rom would have been hell
    -no floppy

you can actually see the letters in this pic, but when you are actually looking at thekeyboard the keys are all black, cant see the letters at all.

what they look like with my little uv flashlight.

i'm thinking about upgrading the psu, but it seemed to be working find for now.

special thanks to picklehead for making the hammer logo into a cutable object.

by the way this is the case i used, i'm totally in love with antec now. super quiet.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129012

this is the heatsink i use, extremely quiet, light, and very easy install for 478 and even more than extremely easy for 939 and 754. i've heard the directions are crappy, but i guess thats only if your installing a lga 775, cause its apparent to me how to install it. oh and its inexpensive.

    Horrid Photo

Note: Older shot, has Logitech MX310 mouse.

    AMD Athlon XP 3700+ (2.4ghz)
    1GB PC3200 DDR RAM
    GeForce 7900GT, 256mb
    Generic pretty good silver/black keyboard
    Logitech MX518 Mouse
Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer Sound Card
    Logitech X530 Speakers (5.1)
Western Digital 320GB IDE Drive, Seagate 320GB 7200.10 Sata Drive, Western Digital 80GB IDE Drive
    Combo DVD Player / CD-RW.
    3.5" floppy drive
    17inch Black Philips CRT
Antec P180 Silent Silver Case, w/ 120mm fans

A little more up to date, and still horrid:

    Watching Inuyasha on TV.

Second shot is even worse, but without the camera flash. My room looks closer to that in real life.

I took the first photo, looked at it on my monitor (as you can see), immediately took another because it was nasty. These photos are a bit better.

    Messy room.

My computer isn't crazy awesome, and it can't quite run the modern game like battlefield 2 and stuff, but it's not bad. What I can afford anyway.

    TI-30X IIS

    Display
    2-Line!!

And it's got some crazy Radeon shnitz.

Unfortunately the OS is a bit of a pain sometimes. Stuff just doesn't seem to make sense and you have the continuing decimal of death and you have to hit the AC/ Clear button.

Since threads like these always end up like bragging posts about who has the best PC
.. I'm going for last place
Here's mine (and an obligatory KDE screen dump)
    .. don't laugh .. It's a PC that a poor person put together

Desktop - minitower case (cpu+motherboard & case bought in 2002)

CPU: AMD AthlonXP 1250mhz (PR2300+ according to AMD's benchmark*)
    Motherboard: Socket A Via K7S5A 266mhz FSB
RAM: 512MB SDRAM (2 simms) was originally 128meg
    HDDs: 2 x 40 GB both Seagate ST34xx - (4) Partitions 1 FAT32, 2 NTFS and 1 Ext3
GFX: Jaton GF5700LE-256MB Ram 8x AGP card in a AGP 2.0 (4x slot) ..and it works too !!!.
Optical Storage1: Samsung writemaster DVD writer (32x speed) (newest bit)
    Optical Storage2: noname DVD/CD-ROM Player
Generic Case+PSU (bought it dirt cheap .. had to replace the PSU twice in 4 years)
    Keyboard: Generic
    Mouse: Microsoft optical PS/2 port
Monitor: Benq 17in CRT (this is next to be replaced)
    OS: OpenSuse10.2 (on a tiny 10Gig partition ... but I need at least 30Gig) , WinXP Pro SP2 (was Win2ksp4 until recently), Win98sp1 (on a 5gig fat partition).
and ... Syllable in a VM (i can post it too :P )
usually gets formatted every 3 months when I feel like trying another OS or more often when I f*ck something up

Notebook (bought in 2001) just a cheap Protac clone rebranded as an Ecom Excel in Aus... (which is appropriate because Excel is all its good for).

CPU: P3-1000MHZ .. too slow for gaming
RAM: 256MB (originally 128) .. shared memory (yuck)
GFX: on board SIS graphics chipset .. forget about 3D gaming
HDD: 10GB 2.5in .. too small for gaming
onboard infrared and network card .. (useful with a crossover cable .. but not for gaming).
OS: WinXP Home SP2 .. not keen to format this often cause it means a call to MS to re-activate everytime.

Foot Rest Computer (bought in 1992 second hand)

    Amiga 500
    CPU: Motorola 68000 - 8mhz
    RAM: 256k
    GFX: ECS chipset
and an external 720k FDD !!!

bout time I bought a new PC eh ?

I don't know about in the US ... but in Australia all true case modders buy Lian Li cases.

If you think prices are expensive in the US look at these prices ! -> http://www.pccasegear.com.au/category25_1.htm
