    Game modes of some sort will be in v5.0. Signifcant work is being done to allow mappers full control over npcs. This will allow mappers to create objectives for npcs to carry out, attacks in waves, specialized high adrenaline spam fests, or more.

    We had too many other issues to sort out that my available time couldn't be spent on the game modes.

    We'll also be finishing up mapper defined player classes (an early version is available in 4.0) and the life system entities and round control.

    What we said in the past is now coming to light, basically.

    i think protector actually got something like that working at one point, but i dont think it will be released in this patch.

    wow, I wonder if any other HL mod has managed to do anything of the likes that sven co-op has managed to do. The optimizations and improvements are just amazing

    i started playing sc again after beeing away a couple of months and to my suprise there is an update coming with new cool stuff!!!

    oh will all the sound issues be fixed in this version? kinda tired of all the crashes :P

    So are you guys going to recommend not using older maps and player models? Just curious if the new version will break anything... Also are we going to need to make a clean install and are you releasing a full installer of the new version??

    concerning maps - quite the opposite. we came up with a way to bring down the number of precached entities to a number lower than 3.0 had apparently. so, old maps that used to be broken in 4.0 should work again for the most part.

    for this version, we opted not to change player model animations. models will still work fine. we may want to mess with them one last time though (probably for the final version).

    ^^I thought the same thing but I don't know how that would work. I can't think of any situations where this would really matter either. I would like to see some kind of ladder climbing animation though.

    I disagree. There aren't any rungs to climb, and there could be any number of rungs within any amount of space. An animation for "ladder climbing" would be most disastrous.

    i dont know if disastrous would be the right word, but we will have to see.

    basically we would sit down and add any animation that we would want in place for the final version. the more animations the better imo.
