    SvenCoop Training Course BETA2

    IMPORTANT ! READ BEFORE DOWNLOADING ! :

    INSTALLATION :
    Unzip the zip contents into your Half-life folder (ect. C:\Sierra\Half-life), the files will be put in their right folders then.

    HOW TO PLAY :
    To play the Training Course, start a LAN game (Multiplayer-Lan Game-Create Game) and choose a level (like osprey). When the server is on, open the console and type : changelevel hc1 Then the map will be loaded and you can play, maps will autoswitch so you don`t need to changelevels after this one.

    ****** For Feedback/Suggestions/Bug Reports***********
    Be sure to :
    -Read the WHOLE Topic, your bug might been reported allready !
    -Be clear about what you mean, post a Screenshot if neccesary.

    Report when :
    -You think there are elements missing in the Course.
    -You see very wrong or odd looking textures that need to be fixed.
    -Find leaks
    -Find any wrong English Spelling/Grammar. (I`m Dutch )

    ** KNOWN BUGS **

    -Due to the Out_of_SFX error I took the HWgrunt out,
    the text about him and the cage he is supposed to be in are there. I`ll add him later when the Out_of_SFX is fixed.
    - Can`t use Flashlight
    - Can`t do the Gaussjump
    - Wierd Elevators going auto up and down
    - Weaponstrip bug

    ** SECRET PRESENT **

    To make you look a little better for those bugs, I`ve put a secret CODE into the Training Course ! If you EMAIL this code to me and the way how you found it, then you will recieve a original handsigned Hezus MAP !

    For more information => check the Readme.txt contained in the zip !

    Let me be the first to say it's excellent work! Well worth the wait, the improvement certainly shows, i recommend this map be put into showcase gold and be used as the official svencoop hazard course!

    Nice job! I couldn't use the flashlight when it wanted me to in HC2 and I couldn't do the gaussjump in HC5

    I must say I really like the training course so far...

    Here are a few bugs I came across:
    -the elevators seem to get stuck in the weapon testing range, you might want to change it so they won't go up and down by themselves
    -I can't use the mounted gun, nothing happens no matter where I am around the mounted gun when I press the use button- I had to skip to map hc4
    -When I was at the monster display place, I got a S_Findname: out of sfx when I came close to the grunts

    Other than that everythign else is fine.
    Some real combat would've been nice , but that's okay man.

    I`ll will try to answer as fast asap.

    Astamatara :

    -The elevators will be fixed.
    -That you could not use the button and gun is because of the weaponstrip at the barney. When you select Snarks then walk trough a trigger_weaponstrip the use button disables. Players trow the bananabomb then the snarks will be autoselected and they walk trough the weaponstrip . To fix this I think I need to make 2 weaponstrips with the Grenades between.
    -Can`t help the Out_of_sfx error...

    The combat map was left out because it`s a bit bugged, it would take allot of time then...

    very nice, been looking for the code for ages but still cant find it.

    also even WITHOUT the hw guy being their i still most frequently got the sfx on the monster lookie section, i remember that another1 i THINK had accentally made a memory sound leak thing while coding.

    Hmm my sven must be perfect I dont get any problems..

    Do you think maybe the sfx error could be helped if all the monsters were put on gag?

    Unluky Freaking Neo, What you emailed is NOT the right code.. Acces Denied !

    As for the SFX error, we really can`t do anything about it.. 2bad. We just have to wait for a new update. Strange thing is the SFX error is different on different computers. BMTwigzta has no errors, I only get SFX error when there is a HWgrunt in the map and others allways get them.. hmmm.. well we`ll just wait till next update when the damn bug is fixed... (hopefully)

    Tommorow I`ll start fixing the reported bugs from the Training Course.. Good night !

    Hezus, mp_flashlight WAS on 1 I still coundn't use flashlight, and I had problems making the second longjump, so I noclipped up, same with gaussjump, which didn't work. Oh yea shouldn't vending machines have light being given off?

    Ok I found one bug.. on HC4

    By that lil button thing to blow off the vent.. if you jump up on it you can fall out of the map... Also I saw the code Hezus.. on acciedent.. It was **********************

    Thought I was gonna say it :P nope...

    anyways.. awesome maps d00d

    anyways on HC4 with the HWgrunts.. it crashes cuz of SFX.. on that pull down yer consol and type nosound 1



    when you beat the level put nosound 0 and problem solved..

    Landmark not found

    When I am going to the next I get a error that landmark is not found.
    So I must change the map by my self.That the only bug that i found.
    Only it think the information texts are showing to short.

    I'm going to be absolutely completely honest, its more than worthy of a flame from a few groupies, but its exactly what I feel about the whole hazard course situation.

    Hezus, its clear you've put a lot of effort into the map and you've improved a lot over the past few months, thats perfectly natural and you'll keep improving both architecturally and design-wise.

    Thats the problem, you've still got to improve a hell of a lot, 2 years ago this would have been great for Sven Co-op, but this is the time when people are used to near-professional designed maps. DoD, TFC and CS all have well-designed maps, architecturally and gamewise, and they're the mods we are 'competing with'. Sven Co-op Final 2.0 will include the best of the best, your set of maps just doesn't make that cut.

    Osprey, Grunts2, Shattered and so on are the best the community can offer at the moment, and they are good maps in uncountable ways, design, looks, gameplay. Your maps, although clearly brimming with time and effort on your part, just aren't in the same league.

    Your set of maps has been a victim of overhyping, in the build-up to release you kept telling us exactly how great the maps were, that can be dangerous and people usually end up expecting more than they get. That happened in this case.

    I've already been honest in my PM to you as to what needs changing to the maps, but in their current state, theres not much chance of the maps being added to 2.0 final.

    Don't be discouraged, keep mapping, most people take years to get to any reasonable quality and you've worked at it hard and its shown. Sorry to be the bringer of the message but it had to come from someone sooner or later.
