Re: Sven Co-op 4.7 RELEASED! Merry Christmas!

There is some "direct" way to install HL1/OP4 campaigns on a Linux server rather than installing locally (Window$) then uploading to the server?

    Thanks and congratz on release!

No because the installation requires use of Ripent to apply our fixed entity data to Valve's BSP's. Ripent isn't available for Linux.

Re: Sven Co-op 4.7 RELEASED! Merry Christmas!

Another small Typo in sven-coop.fgd, entity func_breakable, Changed Default for spawn flag value:

    256: "1-Hit Break" : 0

    should be:

    256: "1-Hit Break" : 1

Unless it was intention to Default all func_breakables to 1-hit crowbar / wrench breaks from now on.

Re: Sven Co-op 4.7 RELEASED! Merry Christmas!

Just scan read the 4.7 changelog looking for changes to fgd and near end of log:

"Made trigger_teleport flag 2,048 (ignore delays) show up in Hammer."

    ??? Bad Idea, see AdamR's post :
    http://forums.svencoop.com/showthrea...9#post479469#4

Instead recommend use attribute:delay (Delay before trigger) - by just leaving as default of "0".

    2048: "Ignore Delay" : 0
    should be:

    // 2048: "Ignore Delay" : 0

    Otherwise Spawn Flag
    4096: "Start Inactive" : 0

Will cease to be registered by the SC engine,
    Regards

I'm impressed by the dedication of the team and the longevity of this mod.

I was probably 16 when I sent 20 dollars of my allowance money in the post as a donation a long time ago, now I'm 27 and the mod is still being updated to this day.

I am impressed as well, I am 27 now and was 13/14 when I started tinkering around with Half-Life and all it's various mods. An entire gaming industry has flourished in the past decade. And still I vaguely remember the reason Sven Co-op was so fun with those old old old terrible yet fun maps (helibat) was because you were playing COOP with other people online, with a goal other than to frag them over and over again

The next update will be just a minor patch for a few issues specific to 4.7 probably in a couple of weeks.

By doing this we can expand on our features that rely on OpenGL specifically, like the particle engine.
You could at least keep some sort of degraded display mode for people who have problems with OpenGL. I can only play in OpenGL after overriding manufacturer's driver settings, but it tends to result in Blue-Screen-of-Death after 5-10 minutes of gameplay. So I normally resort to D3D. Even though the sprites look bad, at least it is stable and playeable.

This is common for intel 945G/G3x/G4x chipset users. I have 2 pcs, mine with a G31 (currently with a radeon hd 5770) and my dad's pc with a 82945G, both (without a external video card) give me terrible fps in opengl mode, and bsod sometimes. Sven Co-op still playable in D3D mode, just hit enter in the warning dialog.

And i'm just looking for a way to install HL/OP4 SP mode directly into a linux machine...

BTW Valve have already dropped Direct3D rendering in their latest Half-Life beta in preparation for a Half-Life client on Linux. Looks like you're going to have to live with OpenGL beyond our decision in the future.

Will the mod works with Steampipe beta update? "ModInstallPath" has changed to "Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life".

The installer won't spot that no but you can move the svencoop folder into it and it should work fine.

The installer gets its default install path from the registry iirc, so as long as Valve changed the registry key it may be OK.

I just want to say, THANK YOU SO MUCH for LINUX server binaries! This is probably the most important feature ever. WINE never ever worked properly.
