    Sven Co-op Release Party

To celebrate the launch on Steam, we're holding a release party on IRC.

Sven Co-op's IRC Channel is hosted by GameSurge. If you don't have an IRC client installed, you can join the chat by using Gamesurge's web-based client: https://gamesurge.net/chat/svencoop

The exact time of release will be announced during the chat. We'll also be answering questions and providing assistance throughout the night. Hope to see you there!

At the risk of jinxing it, Good Job Team Sven Co-op! It's been a big push that you have all made, it's been fascinating seeing 'behind the curtain' and in a miniscule way, to have been a tiny part of the process..

Good luck for future developments of the mod! It just goes to show, old doesn't mean obsolete!

Had this up for a few days. PC gaming may be a better spot though r/gaming is defaulted so...

    Re: Sven Co-op Release Party

We currently have a problem releasing the dedicated server and SDK on Steam. It seems we weren't given permission to set their prices to Free. Because of this there may be fewer stable dedicated servers around at the moment. We've contacted Valve about it and are currently waiting for a reply.

Edit: They responded! SDK and Dedicated Server packages should now be available under Tools in your Steam library! (choose Tools in the dropdown to the right of the Search field).

Some servers are having stability issues largely due to extremely high player counts. Things are kind of overloaded right now due to a huge influx of players during the release. Massive 32-player servers can be fun for a change but Sven Co-op is often best with smaller groups anyway. Consider creating more games with Max Players set to something like 8-12 for dedicated servers and 6-10 for Listen servers ("Listen" servers are games created with the 'Start Game' button from the main menu).

Edit: It also appears that Windows servers are currently quite a bit more stable than the Linux ones. We'll investigate this further.

    Known issues:

If, after Sven Co-op finishes loading (this can take a while the first time), your mouse isn't working properly (e.g. you can't easily click menu items) or the game window extends off the edge of the screen, try disabling any Windows display scaling settings: In Windows 10, go to Settings > System > Display and set "Change the size of text, apps, and other items" to 100%.

Do not change the Renderer to "Software" in Video settings. Leave it set to "OpenGL". If you change it accidentally, try closing and loading the game once or twice and you should get a popup allowing you to click OK to reset your video settings.
