    Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut for Sven Co-op 5.0


    Hello everyone!

    Today I'm happy to announce that AoMDC has finally arrived to Sven Co-op 5.0! This version of AoMDC has all the original weapons from the mod and 1 new secret weapon.
    This AoMDC has survival activated on default, if you want it disabled, make sure to have as_command survival_enabled 0 on your server.cfg file.

    All the AoMDC RipEnt edits has been done by Zorbos, and a few minor ones by me (replacing all the old 4.8 weapons with the 5.0 custom weapons and adding aom_checkpoints).

    Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut do not work on the branch release_candidate_public or 4.8 of Sven Co-op, and will not be updated officially for that branch or version!

    EDIT:
    It appears that the knife is not spawning on dedicated servers, the training room is missing one, and the Hospital map is not spawning the knife ether. The skybox is also showing the default desert skybox instead of the city skybox. We were unable to proceed through the levels due to the weapons not spawning.

    Server is running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. A local listen server on my computer which is running Windows appears to be spawning the knife.

    EDIT: Woohoo skybox has been fixed!

    FIX:
    Will I found a fix, I had to copy the scripts folder into the svencoop folder instead of the svencoop_addons folder.

    Make sure everything is within the svencoop folder, else it won't download/read properly for some strange reason.

    Edit:

    Noticed it was missing the skybox textures, its always something :P Updated the 'Full Archive'. But instead of downloading everything again. here is the quick fix itself:

    Holy crap it's AOMDC! Does this work with listen servers? or do I need special mods at all to have certain things active?

    Also does this come with david playermodels? would be kinda funny to have 32 players as david lol.

    still, nice work glad to see AOMDC on the forums along with AOM on the map database

    On Ending I, past the apartments where you walk up a big set of stairs and go into a small park with lampposts, the console kept spewing missing model error messages.
    I think it might have to do with the 'Face' type enemy but I could be wrong, one guy proclaimed a giant ERROR was displayed where a bush would be.

    Just wanted to check if this was just my end or if anyone else got this.

    Feel free to use the rfa I created: http://148.251.69.41:8889/sc5/svencoop51.rfa (in resgen parameter -b svencoop51.rfa) On Windows you may need to replace all / with \ and use notepad++ as the file has Linux newlines.

    I would do it, but if I do that now, people are going to complain that their maps differs and more. I didn't think of it when I was fixing & replacing stuff into 5.0. Might do it when Sven Co-op gets Workshop tho, then people get the files right away instead of complaining that their map differs.

    Not sure if it's related to it but after getting the new fix, after every or every second level change, it just straight up crashes to desktop. No warnings or messages.

    Edit: Actually on closer inspection seems like when I am just playing by myself it runs fine, but whenever someone joins it has the chance of crashing, bah.

    WELP NEVERMIND, turns out that using the Voice Commands angelscript fucked things up, disabling it returned it back to its former glory.

    I also want to point out that, on Linux, the keep_inventory doesn't really work properly, but on windows you will keep your weapons on map transition.

    looks like some of the links doesn't contain v2's fixes.

    I'm going to go trough the maps on v3, but that means all server owners will have to update their maps. Expect an update this Saturday or Sunday that will contain all missing content (if there is any left) and other misc fixes. (This will also get the new players that doesn't know what they are doing complain sadly, well, mostly on the steam discussions...)

    But do post any bugs on v2 so it gets easier for me to fix the issues

    I really want to know your reason for duplicating so MANY default files into a different path when the files are not even custom ones.
    For example:
    Code:
    buttons/lever1 to 4 moved into AoMDC/buttons
    buttons/spark1 to 6 moved into AoMDC/buttons
    music/4motherdavidhe.wav duplicated in AoMDC/music
    music/4motherkill.wav duplicated in AoMDC/music
    music/cityz22.wav duplicated in AoMDC/music
    buttons/lightswitch2...
    Why not just use AoMDC/find_note.wav instead of duplicating it into misc/checkpoint.wav?

    It's great to finally see a conversion for this! I never thought it would happen.

    I have a couple of nitpicks though:
    - The pistols don't fire nearly as fast as they do in the original mod (where you could pretty much fire as fast as you could click).
    - All the weapons were nerfed a little too hard imo (or monster health is too high?). The deagle does like 15% of the damage it did in the original.

    Maybe the above things were done to make the maps harder, but it just feels bad to me. I'd rather there just be low ammo counts and lower health or something to balance for multiplayer.
