    Defend the fort

    I made this map back in 2009, but I got frustrated with the monster AI and abandoned it until now. I was gonna post this in the "Post your Beta's" thread but apparently it's fully playable with no major bugs.

    It's a horde defense map. 10+ players recommended huehuehue

    Description:

    The objective is to defend your base against 30 waves of random enemies. The difficulty increases every 3 waves, and weapons are upgraded every 8 waves (4 classes to choose from). Your entire base is destructible. If your Barracks is destroyed, you lose.

    Structures to protect:

    Guard towers:
    These spawn friendly snipers.

    Base wall:
    Your primary defensive structure. Enemies will have a clear shot at your Barracks without this.

    Research Lab:
    You can schedule the following upgrades here: turret defenses, health regeneration, a special weapon, and a friendly tor.

    Factory:
    Spawns friendly NPCs

    Barracks:
    Most important (you lose if it breaks). Players spawn here and can regenerate health and grab ammo inside.

    Because one required file were not found in your installation,
    Resource file not found: sprites/smokepuff.spr

    That sprite was attached to a trigger_push for some odd reason. I also forgot to make a .res file. All that's fixed now.

    In my opinion yellow lightning looks strange and doesn't fit.

    It made a bit more sense when it was desert themed. I guess now it just looks like someone peed on the snow, and then the rest of the map.

    We played the map on my server today with 20 people. Everyone liked it and we replayed it 3 times. 1 problem is, the big wall just explodes before even reaching 7-8k health. And it was very easy to clear all the waves. I dont know maybe thats because of too many people . The concept is really good spawning friendly npcs upgrading stuff and repairing the structures. It can be better by adding more complex buildings and bigger gameplay area.

    That's great to hear! I agree this concept and map has many ways it could be improved, but I'm going to leave it how it is since I lost interest in the project over 6 years ago, haha.

    There's a Command and Conquer map in the works that's takes this general concept to extreme levels. That's pretty much how I would make a sequel to this map (if I were actually going to).
