Worst idea, these models are playermade
So if i made a movie about Superman, release it and sell it in a DVD won't that be copyright infringement? You know because i made the movie.
It just the same as here, Sven is no more a "mod" it is a standalone release on a platform that is used for selling stuff. If creators wanted, they could sue for copyright.

Well get used to it. Now it's on Steam, so long as updates are enabled, nothing is sacred. There's a very long and unpleasant precedence - just look at the HL2 saga.

That will likely happen at some point. The people uploading content to the workshop will be responsible for ensuring they have permission to distribute that content though. If a complaint arrives from a copyright holder we will remove such content.
We're not saying "please upload copyrighted material to the workshop instead" but also realise we have literally no way of the community sharing such content amongst themselves.

I fixed Sieni, the model no longer has any missing faces and the arms don't clip outside of the body anymore.

We're just playing it safe. We planned on removing the models before the Steam release but we didn't get around to it.
Disney (as well as the other companies involved) is well known for sending out cease and desist letters.
Valve has a DMCA process and we don't want to get involved with that.
Would you rather have Sven Co-op removed from Steam?
Derivative works carry no protection from copyright laws.
Companies have an obligation to protect their intellectual property or risk losing the right to do so.
Unfortunately, as a matter of practical law and being paranoid, or protective either one works(your not paranoid if they ARE out to get you) if you are a big company protecting your intellectual property is a duty(lol duty) because if you don't send threatening Cease and Desist orders to people who are using your product for profit then eventually the name/idea of your product can become public domain.
Examples of these would be Kleenex being a tissue and Saran Wrap for klingy wrap. There are others.
Now this does bring up an interesting question. Why is the team taking out things when our product doesn't sell anything? The only thing is donation money... Now this of course does not stop people from putting the models in map packs or pushing it on their servers to clients. That is the legal grey area that the community takes over when the team shifts copyrighted content out of the official build. Garrys Mod is also full of copyrighted content but seems to get a much wider birth on the workshop from what I've seen.
Anyway, it is a necessary evil under current corrupt copyright law.
I`d like to add that in the horrible "modgate" showed us that a mod ("paid mod") can be acused of copyright infrigement(its a well known, heck, first mod in the history to get down for Copyright infrigement), i wish i knew more about these laws since all that stuff happened and, maybe, it´ll happen to anyone not profiting from it.

Any reason why calling pfnPrecacheModel from an Amxmodx plugin would no longer work?
I understand some changes was made to precaching. However, from what i gather from the changelog model precaching was not touched directly?
I don't recall us changing pfnPrecacheModel. The only reason I can think of is AMXX (or Metamod) has some cool mechanism to stop accidentally pre-caching more than 512 models and causing a crash. Some official maps go beyond the GoldSrc 512 model limit.
I'd ask the Metamod team to look into that issue rather than AMXX.

Why do you not change Sven Coop Engine upto more than 2048 for models. Server's features you can find in dll or client from HL-SDK. from 512 to your custom limit.
// Edit I though you say limit of offical maps.. I think you need to replace with ripent or advanced patcher from Sven Coop Forum. Or Use WinBspC bsp Decompiler and open JackHammer than you need to recreate maps to your Sven Coop Enginn with limitation? Is it possible?

Bit of a late reply, but what did the developer "turn sour" about with the Boderman map? Just curious.
I'd prefer not to get into that as the person is banned from the forum and would not have a chance to reply, which, in a way, would not seem fair. The person had no issues with the map itself though, just us including it in the game.
Hi,look i been playing a lot of svencoop and now rarely when i use the flashlight it lags or freeze all my stuff,later someone told me to put software not OpenGl i put software and the game crashes, when i click the game tolds me that it will be using the software , BUT later the resolution of the game goes off like 640x400 and the menu i couldnt see it so i wanted to put settings or options and i counldt see the video options so i cant put OpenGl again or at least change the resolution.I hope someone can help me out plz?
P.S: it doesnt work Alt+Enter so i cant put it on windows

then read the suggested fix which is a set of "launch parameters".
