    AS causing server instability?

My PvP server is experiencing 5+ crashes per day for some reason unknown to me. I have tried multiple times to pinpoint the cause of it but I'm running out of clues, the last clue that I have is that AngelScript itself is the one crashing my server. More specifically, the registering of multiple weapon scripts.

I should add, that registering the weapons does not cause the crash. Playing with them on a PvP environment however, does.

Trying to, at least, locate the source of the error. Here is (so far) my previous attempts:

    • Metamod/AMXModX causing server instability.

I have fully disabled metamod and let the server run pure, with the exception of the weapon scripts of course. Yet the server still crashed.

    • The weapon scripts having Holster recursion errors.

Even after fixing the recursion errors, the crashes still happened.

    • Other AngelScript plugin tampering with the game.

No other plugin exists on my server.

That leaves me with one last, very unlikely, suspicion. The weapon scripts themselves crashing the server.

Considering that I'm using these, or even. these scripts. I highly doubt the scripts themselves are the culprit, but rather how the game engine handles it?
I'm completely clueless here and I am hopelessly waiting for a future update that might fix this curse.

    Help.

We'll look into adjusting the gameplay mechanics for the weapon as time progresses.
By that logic, you should remove the M16 and the scope off the MP5. And the Uzis.

    Re: AS causing server instability?

Most of the crash dumps from custom weapons I'm seeing are related to two functions failing: SendWeaponAnim/CopyConstructVector3D.

You'll have to send to a developer a crash dump in order to verify what is causing your crashes.

Windows server. No server or angelscript logs show any information regarding the crash.

Here's hoping they see it: Dump File

Do they actually bother checking those? I think not, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Based on your crashdump, i see metamod and amxx is running.
Please disable them and try again.

Also make sure in liblist.gam is clear from metamod.

I have fully disabled metamod and let the server run pure, with the exception of the weapon scripts of course. Yet the server still crashed.
Unless you want me to create another dump with metamod/amxx disabled, I already deactivated metamod before and it did not fix the crashes.

I took it even one step further:
I installed a brand new server (completely vanilla!) and still got crashes. I too have noticed that it happens on maps that utilize map scripts (like TH coop for example). At this point I've given up trying to prevent them and just re-enabled all of my metamod plugins tbh

At this point, it'd be better if someone just made a Linux/Windows program to remember what map the server was on, and restart it on that map post-crash

    Which maps? Which OS?

Yes, all maps using Angelscript for custom weapons for example are sensitive to crash at any time.
